Nancy Mikhaiel

Barrister · Samuel Griffith Chambers

Nancy brings deep, long-standing experience across all areas of Criminal Law. Her practice encompasses advisory work, hearings and court appearances across a wide spectrum of offences in various court jurisdictions in New South Wales and other states.

‘I just want to be able to help people and have the privilege of being able to do that.’

She has extensive experience in domestic violence and sexual offence matters, as well as a significant history of legally-aided work and the representation of Indigenous clients both in New South Wales and Western Australia.

Nancy places great store on her standing and professional relationships, and is highly regarded by solicitors, prosecutors and the bench for her candour, integrity, reliability and practical judgment. Her calm, direct, manner and persistence, determination, and willingness to explore every lawful avenue for clients is well-known.

For almost a decade, Nancy served as a Public Defender, a role she regards as a defining and deeply-valued part of her career. Since returning to private practice, she has continued to approach her work with passion and a strong commitment to social justice with a view to assisting people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives.
