Background
In crime, Mr. Jones’s experience includes the conduct of Supreme Court and District Court jury trials and a wide spectrum of Local Court matters. Mr. Jones has experience with appeals to the District Court (“all grounds” and severity) and to the Court of Criminal Appeal. He also has considerable experience in both defending and applying for Apprehended Violence Orders and Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders.

He has regularly appeared on behalf of interested persons at a number of Coronial Inquests and also at the Independent Commission against Corruption.

In the Family jurisdiction, he has experience in conducting interim and final hearings relating to parenting orders and property settlements.

Mr. Jones is a registered adjudicator under the “Security of Payment” legislation enacted in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. He has expertise in advising on the operation of the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW) and as to the enforcement of, and potential challenges to, existing adjudication determinations.
