We are delighted to congratulate Adam Williams on his appointment as a Judge of the District Court of New South Wales, commencing 20 July 2026. Mr Williams was called to the Bar in 2002 and has practised at Samuel Griffith Chambers since 2003. The members and staff of Samuel Griffith Chambers wish Adam all the best in his new role and we look forward to celebrating his appointment at his swearing in on 20 July 2026.

NSW Police have been ordered to pay $1.8m in legal fees after seven indigenous men were acquitted of allegations related to the illegal trafficking of a high-value shellfish across the NSW South Coast and outer Sydney. Andrew Metcalfe of Samuel Griffith Chambers appeared for one of seven co-accused whose charges were withdrawn in January during a hearing where the defence examined the reliability of alleged surveillance of the men.
