Brigitte Le Comte

Brigitte originally commenced her studies in medical science, but a fascination for true crime and human behaviour drew her towards law, specifically criminal work involving complex factual and evidentiary issues. Brigitte also has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in psychology and philosophy.

She began her legal career with the Aboriginal Legal Service, in Redfern and Parramatta and following admission, Brigitte worked extensively in regional and remote areas of Australia, including Dubbo, Broken Hill and Griffith, then the Northern Territory, where she worked with the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) in Katherine as the Senior Solicitor, appearing regularly in Darwin Supreme Court and remote community courts. She subsequently joined the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission in Alice Springs as the Trial Advocate, before becoming a Crown Prosecutor with the Director of Public Prosecutions, where she conducted a wide range of serious criminal matters primarily in the Supreme Court.

Known for her pragmatic and no-nonsense attitude, Brigitte has the ability to distil complex legal issues into clear, persuasive arguments for courts and juries. She has significant experience in sensitive and complex sexual offence and serious violence matters.

Brigitte is deeply connected to the Northern Territory and remote New South Wales, where she spent the majority of her time in practice and retains a strong professional and personal connection to Alice Springs and Broken Hill.
