Amarande Chauvet
Amarande (Ama) Chauvet comes to the Bar with a wealth of experience in Criminal and Family Law. She became an accredited specialist in Criminal Law in 2021 and was most recently a Senior Solicitor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions where she worked on complex criminal prosecutions including running trials for the Crown.
Amarande commenced her career in private practice in suburban firms in Bankstown and Sydney. She then worked at both the Legal Aid Commission and at the ODPP where she routinely appeared as advocate in bail applications, mental health diversionary applications, defended hearings, sentences and appeals. She has considerable experience in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of New South Wales and interstate.
Amarande accepts briefs in a range of practice areas and is available to appear regionally and interstate. She is on a number of the Legal Aid Commission panels and accepts Legal Aid work. Amarande is fluent in French.
